Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

Q Is AccessOPEN currently available in my state?

A
AccessOPEN has providers located in multiple states, however Georgia has been selected for the initial statewide program rollout. We have hand-selected a group of highly respected medical providers to service our AO members.

Q How many providers are within the AccessOPEN Network?

A
There are currently over 1,400 highly reputable, board-certified providers within the AccessOPEN Network. Our screening process for recruiting providers is purposeful and meticulous, so that we can offer access to the best in quality, service and outcomes. In addition, we focus on ease of accessibility and convenient appointment times for our members. Please Call (855) 955-OPEN, for more information.

Q What type of services does AccessOPEN offer?

A
AO offers a myriad of healthcare related services. This includes, but is not limited to, urgent and primary care, specialist, dental, pharmacy, physical therapy, pediatrics and much more. To see a more expansive list of services, please visit www.accessopen.org.

Q Do I need to be an U.S. citizen to join AccessOPEN?

A
No. AccessOPEN and each of the medical service providers in the AO network believes all people should have equal access to affordable health care.

Q How much will I pay at my medical appointment?

A
The cost of services is determined depending on your health care needs and request. This will vary from a simple well-care or pediatric visit, to those that may require a comprehensive consultation by a specialist involving additional services such as x-rays or labs. In any case, your AO Member Specialist will provide a discounted rate of up to 42% on all services. As a member of AccessOPEN, you only pay for what you need. Quotes are often provided to our members in advance of the appointment, allowing full transparency of the expected total cost. If additional services are required, your provider will be instructed to notify AccessOPEN so that we may get your authorization prior to any services being rendered. No surprise medical billing!

Q Will AccessOPEN replace my medical insurance?

A
No. AccessOPEN is not a health insurance provider and therefore, is not a replacement for traditional medical insurance. Although, our discounted medical services are provided at significant savings to AO members and do not include other costs found with a health insurance policy such as, deductibles, copays and coinsurance. Indeed, many US families elect to carry a catastrophic insurance policy to supplement the discounted, non-catastrophic services that AccessOPEN offers. A catastrophic policy may come in handy for those types of services that are not available through AO, such as cancer care, acute strokes, heart attacks, or serious injury traumas.

Q Are mental health providers a part of the AccessOPEN Network?

A
Yes. We provide a range of mental health specialties within the AO Network. This includes, but is not limited to, psychologists, psychiatrists, professional counselors, as well as private and convenient telemedicine services.

Q Can I have medical insurance in addition to my membership to AccessOPEN?

A
Yes. AccessOPEN is not a health insurance plan. It is designed to offer services at a discounted rate, that in most instances far exceeds that provided under the high deductibles of some insurance plans. Simply put, it can often be cheaper to use the membership for health-related services than to use your own health insurance. Therefore, many members with high premiums and deductibles choose AccessOPEN as an addition to traditional health insurance coverage. In addition, some of our members may not have any traditional health insurance coverage and have selected AccessOPEN as an affordable option for quality medical services for themselves and their families.

Q What does the AccessOPEN membership fee include?

A
The AO membership fee gives unlimited access to the AccessOPEN Network of over 1,400 medical providers. These medical services are provided with discounted rates of up to 42% on a wide selection of general and specialty medical, dental and hospital services. No more premiums and deductibles.
